Daniel R. Reiter, age 58, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Dan was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, on February 24, 1966, to James and Mary Ann (Baier) Reiter. He was married to Laura Kerkhof on August 12, 1995.
Dan grew up in Jim Falls, WI, and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education from UW Eau Claire and earned his Master's degree in Guidance & Counseling from UW Stout. Dan served in the United States Army Reserves and the Wisconsin National Guard. He was dedicated to his career as a guidance counselor at Tomahawk High School for over 28 years, helping students achieve success and improve their lives. He coached youth baseball and was active with the Boy Scouts. Dan enjoyed fishing and hunting, and truly loved spending time with his family, especially winning their nickels playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of over 29 years, Laura Reiter; his children, Katie, Tom, Nat, and Joey; his brothers, Tony (Sue) Reiter, Chuck (Carol) Reiter, and Bob (Janet) Reiter; his sisters, Karen Reiter and Ruth (Pat) Smith; and his mother-in-law, Louise Kerkhof. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Ann; his father-in-law, Eugene Kerkhof; and his brothers-in-law, Mike Campbell and Paul Viner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
