Ann Agnew, 93, of Tomahawk, WI passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Milestone Senior Living in Rhinelander. Ann was born October 2, 1931 in Rockford, Illinois the daughter of Ernest and Avis (Geiser) Westberg. She was united in marriage to Robert Agnew and he preceded her in death June 14, 1993. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Mella, Tomahawk, WI and Susan (Matthew) Peterson, Hayward; grandchildren, Rachael Peterson, Luke Peterson, Matthew (Megan Schmeisser) Mella, Jennifer Mella; great-grandchildren Hazel Schmeisser and Jasper Mella. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 40 years, Robert Agnew. Ann will be remembered fondly for her love of nature which she expressed through her involvement in Tomahawk’s local Garden Club and through her ongoing support of UW Stevens Point Treehaven campus here in Lincoln County. Ann was a loyal caregiver to many friends here in Tomahawk. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, serving on the board, hosting bible studies in her home and helping with annual chili feeds. Ann held a deep faith in God which she often expressed through actions of love and help toward her fellow church members. Ann and her husband Bob were long time summer vacationers in the Tomahawk area having built a cabin on Lake Alice and spending many a summer weekend there with their daughters. Then in the late 1970’s they made a permanent move to Tomahawk, opening the local Ace Hardware store together with Tom and Sue Loka. Ann always made family a priority, attending her share of birthday parties, school programs, musical concerts, dance performances and graduations. Her children and grandchildren are blessed to carry with them a lasting memory of her support and encouragement during significant milestones in life. The value for family that she has passed on to each of family member will be a lasting legacy that we hope to pass on to subsequent generations. Ann, we love you and we thank you for all that you have given to us. We will miss you and we will remember you. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home with Dennis and Wendy Mannering officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 to time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
