Daniel Munoz Rivera

Daniel Munoz, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2025 at home and surrounded by all three of his children. Daniel was born on March 22, 1939 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Daniel grew up as one of 7 siblings. As a boy, he was a talented soccer player. In his childhood, he met his future wife, Gladys Munoz, who passed away in 2022 after almost 60 years of marriage. Daniel followed Gladys to the United States in 1961 to pursue their dream of attending college and raising a family. The two married in 1964, and soon after had their three children, Maria Gabriella, Rene Arturo and Juan Carlos Munoz. Daniel and Gladys raised their children in Los Angeles, CA, as Daniel worked as a foreman at a plastics factory. Anyone who knew Daniel in any capacity knew him to be a stoic, kind, hard-working and honest man. His love for his wife and family could not be mistaken. Daniel's pride for his family grew with the addition of his five grandchildren. Daniel loved showering his grandchildren with unconditional love and affection. In his retirement, he could be found in the yard of his home gardening, tinkering and creating works of art from simple gourds. Daniel will forever be remembered by all who knew him as a beautiful soul who will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM.
