Daniel Schleis, 80, Kewaunee, a beloved father, grandfather, passed away at the age of 80 on Monday, July 1, 2024, at home. Born on March 24, 1944, to the late Albert and Marie (Mleziva) Schleis, Dan lived a life rich in family and cherished memories.
Dan was a graduate of Kewaunee High School. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On September 21, 1968, he married the love of his life, Helen Fictum, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville.
Dan worked for many years as an electrician. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and watching the Brewers. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his daughter Lisa (Jonathon) Jerabek; grandchildren Austin (Mariah) Jerabek, Allison Jerabek, Anthony Jerabek, and Avery Jerabek. He is further survived by his sisters, Shirley Pankratz, Darlene Franke, Donna Gadzinski; sister-in-law, Delores Schleis, sister-in-law, Rose Fictum, and brother-in-law, Steve (Nancy) Fictum.
Dan was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Marie Schleis; brothers Milton (Marilyn) Schleis, Albert Schleis, James Schleis; sisters Blanche (Elton) Kasten, Mary Ann (Jerry) Klaman, Carol Schleis; sister-in-law Clara Fictum, sister-in-law Frances Fictum; brothers-in-law Raphael Pankratz, and Robert Gadzinski.
Visitation will take place on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Krok Cemetery with full military rites. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
