Daniel Herbert Schyma

Daniel H. Schyma, age 84, a resident of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026.

Dan was born into a farming family in Foley, Minnesota on July 15, 1941.

Dan is survived by daughter, Suzanne Jenniges (Myron) and three grandchildren, Joshua Schyma (Kasey Boudreau), Ashley Thurman, Cassiana Thurman, great grandson, Holden Schyma, two sisters, Marilee Blais (Norman), LuAnn Trutwin (Michael) and many nieces and nephews. He loved his daughter and grandchildren deeply, as well as his siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Dan is preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Dori Schyma, son, Todd Schyma, parents, Paul and Irene Schyma, and siblings Dwayne Schyma, Gary Schyma, and sister Geralyn Frank.

A special acknowledgement to his brother Gary Schyma who he shared an unbreakable, lifelong bond.

Dan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in math and physics from St. John's University and completed his masters degree in business at St. Thomas University. Dan taught middle school and high school for several years. He later entered into the field of medical sales, working for Medtronic, CPI, and later at Minntech, as VP of Marketing and Sales.

Dan was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Stephen's church in Anoka. During retirement, Dan was a member of Sister Cities in Columbia Heights. A special thank you to the members who gave him some of the best years of his life.

1827 Coon Rapids Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. Date of Service Sunday, January 25 Visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Funeral Service 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

Dinner, 3:10 PM at VFW Post 9625, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids.
