Gerald "Jerry" Wielenberg

Gerald "Jerry" Frank Wielenberg, age 83 of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away on Sunday January 18, 2026, at Mercy Hospital.

Jerry was born May 14, 1942, in Sauk Center, MN to Edwin and Cornelia (Hinnenkamp) Wielenberg. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1960 and later earned his associate's degree in accounting. Jerry was an accountant for the State of Minnesota and worked at the Glen Lake Sanatorium and Oak Terrace Nursing Home until closure in 1991, the Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center and later at the Department of Human Services from which he retired.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, volunteering, fishing, gardening, and attending threshing and antique car shows. He was engaged in his faith and was active within the community at The Church of the Epiphany.

Survived by children, Rosie Wielenberg, Ehren Wielenberg, Elizabeth (Dan) Peterson; grandchildren, Ruby Nevarez Wielenberg, Francesca Nevarez Wielenberg and Ava Peterson; brother, Bernard (Judy) Wielenberg; sisters, Sharon (John) Bartels, Carol (Steven) Miller, Janet Wallgren; and many other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by wife, Mary Wielenberg; parents, Edwin and Cornelia Wielenberg; stepmother, Gertrude Wielenberg; brother, Ronald Wielenberg; sister, Eileen Wielenberg; brothers-in-law, Robert Wallgren, Bernerd Smith, Randy Smith; sister-in-law, Carol Mohrmann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Epiphany Hospitality Service (emergency groceries for parishioners).

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on February 23, 2026, at The Church of the Epiphany, 1900 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. Family and friends may gather for visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at Church. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Interment will follow at a later date.
