Daniel Kyle Smith, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC, at the age of 42. Born on August 8, 1982, in Spartanburg, Daniel was a happy child who grew into a kind-hearted individual known for his warm spirit and sense of humor.
He graduated from Spartanburg Day School in 2000 and pursued further education at the University of South Carolina. Daniel's career as a Pharmaceutical Representative for Smith's Drug Company reflected his commitment to helping others. His delightful personality allowed him to forge meaningful relationships with his co-workers and clients.
Daniel was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed immersing himself in the arts, including his talent of playing multiple instruments. He was also fluent in German and held a black belt in Karate, demonstrating his discipline and enthusiasm for personal growth.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Angela Cohen Amos of Spartanburg; his brother, David Kenneth Smith, Jr. of Boiling Springs; and his sister, Lindsay Metcalf (Drew) of Spartanburg. He also leaves behind an uncle, Eddie Cohen, residing in Uruguay, South America, as well as extended family members who will continue to cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his father, David K. Smith, Sr.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
The funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Cryptside services will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum at 2:00 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Marc Williamson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Baptist Church for missions, 256 Floyd Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303, or the SPCA at https://www.spcai.org/
Daniel Kyle Smith will be remembered for his joyful spirit, love for music, and the light he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
