He was born in Pittsburgh on September 30, 1945 to the late Daniel E. Stitt Jr and Mary Ruth (Storey) Stitt.
Dan proudly served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He was stationed in Spain and enjoyed it there. During his time in the service, he fell in love with Spain, the history and culture. While in Spain, he golfed and raced cars. He worked as truck driver for 40 years. He had a passion for history, and he enjoyed traveling to Arizona. He was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA). In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandfather. He cherished taking Danny to archery shoots. He married the former Holly Bouch and she survives. They spent 40 years together. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; he was so proud of them all. He will be missed by his family and his beloved dog, Gracie.
Dan is survived by his wife Holly Stitt of Tylersburg; children Michelle (John) Scroggins of Clintonville, Maribeth (Bob) Harmon of Grove City, Mitch Stitt of Tylersburg, and Georgia (Keith) Oyler of Lucinda; grandchildren Joey Hughes, Justin Hughes, Katie Hughes, Ericka (Thomas) Tuite, Steven (Lorah) Harmon, Alex (Samantha) Stitt, Logan Oyler, Kierra Oyler (Kolton), Anna Stitt, and Marissa Scroggins. In addition, Dan is survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his son Daniel "Danny" Stitt IV, and grandson Zackary Oyler.
Friends and family will be received at 11:00am on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Knights of Columbus Baseball Field: 26020 Route 66 Lucinda, PA 16235 for a Celebration of Dan's life. After the celebration, lunch will follow.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St, Clarion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation: give.michaeljfox.org, The American Legion Post 066: 530 Main St. Clarion, PA 16214 or the Clarion Veterans of Foreign Wars #2145: 603 Liberty St. Clarion, PA 16214.
