Daniel R. Stoner, 89, of Denver, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital - Penn Medicine.
He was born in Mountville, son of Daniel R. and Fern (Meashey) Stoner and was the husband of Joyce (Showalter) Stoner with whom he shared 68 years of marriage.
He was a member of Swamp Lutheran Church, Reinholds. He was a volunteer on the Cocalico Watershed Committee. He loved to walk, and he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and mowing grass at his church and Galen Hall Golf Course.
Daniel worked as a wire drawer for Kalas for 24 years prior to his retirement, and in those 24 years he had perfect attendance, for which he was rewarded a trip.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by 2 sons, Bryan T. Stoner, husband of Tonya, and Mark A. Stoner, husband of Lori-Jo; 5 grandchildren, Travis, Megan wife of Josh Worley, Cody, Zachary, husband of Ashleigh, and Cayla, fiancée of William Wittick; 2 great-granddaughters, Saleen Wittick and Elliotte Stoner; 3 siblings, Joyce, wife of the late Clyde Engle, Sharon, wife of Lamar Hollinger, Kenneth Stoner, husband of Marcia; and brother-in-law, Marlin Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pvt. 1st Class Larry Stoner and a sister, Bonita Miller.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM at the Swamp Lutheran Church, 275 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, PA 17569. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Scott Brubaker officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Daniel's memory may be made to Swamp Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at the above address or to Cocalico Watershed Association.
