Daniel "Danny" Tillman Watts, a beloved brother and friend, passed away on December 11, 2025, in
Washington, North Carolina, at the age of 77. Born on November 20, 1948, in
Charlotte, North Carolina, Danny lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication.
Danny devoted 40 years of his career to the healthcare industry, working as an orderly at the Howells Center in La Grange. His commitment to his work and the care he provided left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Outside of his professional life, Danny was a man of varied interests and passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as canoeing, bird watching, and capturing the beauty of wildlife through photography. The beach was a place of solace for him, where he often spent time reflecting and enjoying the natural world. A loyal fan of UNC basketball and local Kinston baseball games, Danny cherished the camaraderie and excitement these sports brought into his life. Music was another source of joy for him, providing a soundtrack to his many adventures.
Travel was a significant part of Danny's life, and some of his most cherished memories were made during trips to Ireland, Scotland, and Hawaii, particularly his visit to Pearl Harbor for remembrance. These experiences enriched his life and broadened his perspective.
A faithful Presbyterian, Danny's faith was a guiding force throughout his life, providing him with strength and comfort.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Payne Watts and Virginia Harden (Tillman) Watts. He is survived by his loving brother, Gordon Payne Watts Jr., and a special family friend, Robin C. Arnold, who both held a special place in his heart.
