Danny was born in Muncie, IN on October 9th, 1944. He attended Muncie Central High School where he met his lifelong love, Cookie. Danny dedicated 39 years of work as a toolmaker and programmer to General Motors. He loved to play golf, bowl, fish, and spend time with his family, including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Cookie Wegesin; two sons DJ and Domonick; daughter Dawn Maitlen; two grandchildren, Chelsea (Eric) Latimer and Jake (Phoebe) Wegesin; two step-grandchildren, Kaleb and Nadia Carter; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Ben. He is also survived by his sister Pam Wegesin.
Danny led a life of service. He was always eager to help his neighbors and friends with their remodeling projects and household repairs. He traveled often with Disaster Relief to help rebuild communities devastated by natural disasters, and participated in international mission work building houses, schools, and churches in Africa and South America. He and his wife hosted the Young at Hearts group, which provided an opportunity for older adults in their church community to gather and socialize. Danny supported local community youth as a volunteer baseball, basketball, and wrestling coach. He loved joking and story-telling with his friends and family and was well loved by everyone who met him.
Danny's family invites you to join them at 4:00 p.m. for a Celebration of Life Ceremony at Old Town Hill Church on Saturday, July 22, 2023 with Pastor Steve Graves officiating. Friends and family may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of ceremony.
