Daniel Ray Wengerd age 77 of Salesville, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 29, 1947 in Mercer, PA, a son of the late Albert C. Wengerd and Lydiann (Yoder) Wengerd.
Daniel carried a story of faith, resilience, and integrity. He was a fierce defender of the Gospel. He led his family and many others to Christ. He fought the good fight and kept the faith. He has finished the race.(2 Timothy 4:7).
Mr. Wengerd was a self employed general contractor for many years. Later in life he owned and operated his sawmill. He attended Westwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching football, mowing on his farm, playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his beloved wife Ida.
Daniel is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Ida M. (Byler) Wengerd, they were married on June 26, 1969; children, Viola (Mike) Kelley, Chester (Lydia) Wengerd, Albert (Lydiann) Wengerd, Mark (Regina) Wengerd and Ruth (Pete) Weaver; eleven grandchildren, Lorene and Graci Kelley, Linda (Clayton) Spencer, Mark, Caroline & Josh Wengerd, Michael (Katie) Wengerd, Eileen & Angela Wengerd (& fiancé Austin Paden) Kamryn & Alayna Weaver; two great grandchildren, Easton & Addie Wengerd; and his dog Max.
Daniel is preceded in death by: his parents; and a son Melvin Ray Wengerd on July 26, 1973.
Private services, officiated by Chaplain Nathaniel Womack, took place at Bundy-Law Funeral Home with burial following at Northwood Cemetery. Memorial condolences may be made online at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com.
