He was born in Millersburg on July 24, 1970 to Eli J.C. and Lillian (Miller) Wengerd.
Vernon previously drove semi and started his own pallet business.
He enjoyed playing guitar, writing his own songs, fishing, hunting and eating ice cream. He had a love for animals and a kind giving heart that accepted anyone without judgement.
Vernon is survived by his mother, Lillian Wengerd; a son, Corey Wengerd; a brother, Lester Wengerd; sisters, Kathy (Dan) Rufener, Marilyn (Mike) Modarelli and Laura (Andrew) Hochstetler; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eli J.C. Wengerd; and his grandparents.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 9-10:00 am at the Aden Keim residence, 5152 S. Kansas Road, Apple Creek followed by a service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery.
