Daniel “Dan” F. Wilhelm, 73, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on October 27, 2025, at Davis Hospice Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on April 29, 1952, in Torrington, Wyoming, to George and Esther Wilhelm.
Dan proudly served in the United States Army for three years, driving a supply truck while stationed in Germany. Later in life, he began a long and dedicated career with Simon Construction as a concrete mixer driver. He worked faithfully for 39 years before retiring at the age of 66.
More than anything, Dan loved his family. He took special joy in being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Danelle Medina (Adam), of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and his step-son, James Gregg (Karla), of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida; his granddaughters, Alyssa and Briana Medina, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Aspen Carter (Isaiah), Jayden, Azalia, and Kiera Gregg; and his four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Zimmerman of Sterling, Colorado, and Virginia Gibson (Dan) of Lyman, Nebraska, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther Wilhelm, three brothers, and one sister.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed the open road on his Goldwing Trike, had a fondness for John Deere tractors, and loved making memories with his granddaughters. His gentle presence and quiet humor will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to support his special needs granddaughter, whom he loved dearly, at:
