In 1953, she graduated from New Brunswick High School and joined the Air Force. She was stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. She met the love of her life in 1955. She was not as fond of Jack Spillers as he was of her. Eventually, he convinced her that she was the right person for him. They got married on June 16, 1956, and moved to Los Angeles. They began their young family there and welcomed their daughter.
In 1958, Jack and Frances relocated to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and had a son. Several years later, they moved to England, and Frances and the kids traveled widely through the European countries. She enjoyed the culture and loved all of Europe.
In 1965, they moved back to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and had another son. She lived in Cheyenne until 1981, when she moved to Casper, Wyoming. In 2008, Frances moved back to Cheyenne and enjoyed renewing old friendships and making new ones. Frances loved to read, paint, and draw. She was very artistic. Frances won several awards for her art. She was very proud of the first-place awards in the VA Art competition. She proudly displayed the pictures and often talked about them.
Frances’s pride and joy were the many animals she kept as pets. In her lifetime, she had numerous dogs and cats. She would take care of any animal that came to her. Her most cherished animal was her cat, Thomas.
