Jacalyn Marie Beck

Jacalyn Marie Beck, age 60, of Cheyenne, WY formally of Bottineau ND, passed away on Saturday November 1st, 2025 at home in her sleep. Her memorial service will be held on November 20th, 2025 at 2pm at the Schrader Funeral Home.

Jackie loved fishing and the outdoors. She had many good fishing stories to tell. She spent most spring and summer weekends with her family at Pathfinder Reservoir in Casper, Wyoming catching both trout and walleye.

Jackie was born in Bottineau, North Dakota on November 11th, 1964. She grew up fishing and boating at Lake Metigoshe. In 1990, she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. She began work at APW-Wyott as a spot welder where she met the love of life and fellow fisherman, Clarence “Scooter” Beck.

She worked at the Wyoming Game and Fish department gift shop for 24 years. In addition to the Cheyenne Game and Fish gift shop, she helped coordinate the opening of other gift shop locations around the state. Jackie also worked with a committee to organize the yearly Wyoming Game and Fish conservation stamp art show contest.

She is survived by her husband and daughter Clarence “Scooter” Beck and Brittney Beck, her son-in-law Zachary Kelsey, her brothers Corey (Karyn) and Mike (Kristi) McKechnie, her sister Susie (Randy) Vetsch, and her step-brothers Craig (Judy) and Keith Thornby.

She was preceded in death by her father Gerald “Jerry” McKechnie and her mother and stepfather Janet and Marvin Thornby.

Jackie was both first mate in the boat and in all adventures in our lives. She was an incredible wife and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day.

And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray,

When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep,
