Arthur L. Hansen, affectionately known as Art, was born on November 13, 1935, in Walla Walla, Washington. Art passed away peacefully in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on November 8, 2025, just shy of his 90th birthday.
Art's journey began in Walla Walla, where he completed his education at Walla Walla High School before serving his country proudly in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958. Following his military service, he established himself in Reno, Nevada, where he owned and operated a service station for 30 years. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his family, whom he cherished deeply.
In 1992, Art and his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois A. Hansen, made the move to Cheyenne, creating a new chapter filled with love and laughter. Together, they nurtured a wonderful family that included daughters Cyndi, Kathie (Layne), and Julie, as well as a bonus son, Bruce Marten (Jenny). Art’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Arthur Leander, Tony Leander (Jonathan), Brooke Mitchell (Connor), and Jared Hansen (Liz) and great grandchildren, Jaden Leander, and Malcolm and Lochlan Mitchell.
In addition to his remarkable family life, Art was a steadfast fan of the 49ers, relishing the excitement of each game, win or lose. His passion extended to airplanes and air shows, where he found joy in watching the marvels of flight.
Though he is predeceased by his father, Albert James, mother, Clara Mae, and his brothers, Larry and Ernest Hansen, Art leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
