Robert Allen Lewis, 88, passed peacefully at Davis Hospice Center on 10/23/2025. He was born in Concord, NH to Allen and Alda Lewis and graduated from Hopkinton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served three years on various aircraft carriers doing radio communications. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Geology and was married to his beloved wife Barbara Lawler in 1961.
Robert retired after a 28-year career with the Wyoming DOT (Highway Department). He and Barbara enjoyed many years of traveling in their RV, wintering in Arizona and Alabama. He was a man of many interests and talents. Robert was an avid runner, biker and mechanic. He loved Alfa Romeo cars, enjoyed gardening, making beer, wine, and pottery, and he was a long-time member of SH-WY Amateur Radio Club. Robert spent 30 years on the Cheyenne Frontier Days Parade Committee. He loved music, and at 80 years, became a tap dancer.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his three children Scott Lewis (Cathi), Brenda Bledsoe (Jeffrey), and Brian Lewis (Whitney); five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brothers David Lewis (Christina) and Mark Lewis (Christine).
Memorial service will be held at a later date TBD.
