He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a former employee of General Electric and Phillip Morris. and he was also an avid bowler and an enthusiastic fisherman.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lewis; grandson, Anthony Coooper; sister, Dorothy Poynter; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Lewis.
He is survived by his children, William A. Lewis, III, and Charna Lewis; grandchildren, Immanuel Lewis, Hamilton Lewis, Gabriel Lewis, Isaiah Lewis, Harper Lewis, and John David Lewis; special niece, Debra Lewis, and a host of loving family and friends.
Memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, November 8, 2025, at A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut St.
