Danielle Alana “D” Stallings, 40, of 904 Meadowhill Court, Chesapeake, VA, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in her home.
“D” was born on October 31, 1984. A graduate of Perquimans County High School, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University. Employed for many years as the finance manager at Beach Ford, and most recently at Southern Auto Group, she was raised in the fellowship of Hertford Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Billy Baker, and Quinton and Iola Stallings, she is survived by her parents, Alan and Yvonne Baker Stallings of Oak Island, NC; her sister, Hillaree Haller (husband, Chris, and their children, Logan Ullman and Everly Haller) of Leland, NC; and her maternal grandmother, Carol Baker of Hertford. Also surviving is the absolute Love of her Life, Joe Miller of the home, and his daughters, Olivia Miller (son, Jameson Moore) of Chesapeake and Ariel Rodgers (husband, Josh, and their daughter, Daphne Rodgers) of King George, VA. Other family members include aunts and uncles, Wayne Baker (wife, Marysue) of Camden, Sandra Winslow (husband, Joe) of Elizabeth City, Ray Stallings (wife, Linda) of Whiteville, NY, and June Carolyn Stallings (husband, Larry, deceased) of Tyner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by her cousin, The Rev. Darryl Stallings. The burial will follow on the family plot in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will gather on Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home to receive visitors, or at other times Joe will be at their home in Chesapeake, and Yvonne and Alan will be at Wayne and Marysue Baker’s home, 227 Sawyer’s Creek Road, Camden, NC.
Flowers are welcomed, or because of her deep love for animals, contributions in her memory may be made to any local animal shelters and pet adoption centers.
