Danilo Lanot Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home - Braintree on Jan. 3, 2026.
Danilo C. Lanot, affectionately known as Danny, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, after a long illness, at the age of 68. Born on January 20, 1957, in Manila, Philippines, Danny's journey was one marked by love, kindness, and a thoughtful nature that touched everyone he encountered.
The son of the late Ruben and Fely (Celestino) Lanot, Danny's formative years in the Philippines instilled in him the values of family and education. He graduated from high school in his birthplace before earning his Bachelor's Degree from Don Bosco College, in the Philippines. His academic achievements were a testament to his dedication to personal growth and his desire to contribute meaningfully to society.
Danny's professional life was characterized by his long-standing commitment to the retail industry, where he became a familiar and friendly face at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. He concluded his career as a beloved clerk at Market Basket Supermarket in Brockton, where customers and colleagues alike cherished his presence.
Beyond his work, Danny's interests painted the picture of a man who embraced the joys of life. He relished the simple pleasure of dining out, often accompanied by friends and family. Dancing was another passion, and Danny could be found on the dance floor, where his joy was contagious. His thoughtfulness shone brightest when he was shopping for presents, a task he undertook with the utmost care to ensure that each gift was as special as the person receiving it.
Traveling was among Danny's favorite pursuits, as he loved to explore new places and cultures. However, it was the time spent with his family and friends that truly filled his heart. As a devoted brother to Tes Fadrigalan and her husband Steve Hamel of Dennisport, and Ricardo "JoJo" Lanot and his wife Merlyn of CA, Danny's bond with his siblings was unbreakable. He was also a cherished uncle to Charlene Richenburg, Kris Fadrigalan, Richard Lanot, P.J. Lanot, and Ruben Lanot, II, whose lives he enriched with his loving guidance and infectious laughter.
Danny will be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness. His thoughtful nature made him a treasured companion, and his memory will live on in the hearts of the many relatives, cousins, friends, and the fond recollections of his late dogs, Boomer and Lexi. His passing leaves a void that will be felt by all who knew him, but the legacy of his gentle spirit will continue to inspire.
We bid farewell to Danilo C. Lanot, a man whose life was a tapestry of caring deeds, warm smiles, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Danny's story is one of a life well-lived and a man well-loved, and while he will be dearly missed, the memories he leaves behind will be cherished forever.
