Danny Goodman, Sr.

 

Danny Goodman, Sr., 75, of Ridgely, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at his residence.  Born February 22, 1948, he is the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lula Irene Dick Goodman.  He was a contractor and excavator.  Danny was the caretaker of New Haven Cemetery for numerous years along with many other county and church cemeteries in the area.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Chuck Graham and Brother Danny O’Guinn with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.   

 

Skylar Shelton, Garrett Shelton, James Dial, Jr., Johnny Hutching, Stephen Michael Scott, Jr. and Danny Goodman, III will serve as pallbearers.

 

He is survived by two sons, Danny Goodman, Jr. (Penny), Keith Goodman, both of Ridgely; three grandchildren, Danny Goodman, III, Brittany Goodman (deceased), Alexis Goodman, two great-grandchildren, Hazley Daniella Isauro, Knox Layne Goodman; five sisters, Earlene Blair (Jerry) of Wynnburg, Darlene Hollandsworth of Ridgely, Yvonne Mealer (Billy) of Millsfield, Shirley Hall, Diane Hall, both of Estill Springs; and one brother Jimmy Goodman of Wynnburg.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Judy Goodman; his granddaughter Brittany Goodman; four sisters, Nollie Rutkowski, Betty Johnson, Rachel Dial, Peggy Smith and one brother, Elton Goodman.
