COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Danny Eugene Hargis, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday August 30, 2025, at the Livingston Regional Medical Center. Born October 2, 1959, Monterey, Tennessee, Danny embraced the joys of life with a spirit known for its humor and warmth. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember his ability to make people laugh, often lighting up a room with his funny anecdotes and kind-hearted nature.
Danny was a dedicated family man, cherished by his sons Benjamin Hargis and Christopher Hargis, and his daughter Amanda Hargis. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Jade and Xander Hargis, showering them with love and affection throughout their lives.
He is also survived by his sisters, Diane Riutta and Delores Russell, and his brother, Dewayne Hargis, who shared many fond memories and life experiences with him.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Hargis, his brother Dallas Hargis, and his significant other, Margaret Hyde. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart, and their memories will forever remain a part of his legacy.
A graveside service honoring Danny's life will be held on September 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Mayland Cemetery located on Junior Camp Road in Monterey, Tennessee. Friends and family members are invited to gather to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and shooting guns, reflecting his "country boy" spirit.
Danny Eugene Hargis will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his laughter, love, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
