Danny Steven "Boone" Metcalf

Danny Steven "Boone" Metcalf, 78, of Rossville, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Chattanooga, TN, and attended Lakeview High School.

Boone was of the Church of God faith. He worked for ten years with Catoosa County Rabies Control and later retired from Cagle Land Surveying Group. A talented mechanic, he enjoyed spending countless hours working on cars. He found joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he had a special love for animals.

Boone was also an avid NASCAR fan, a devoted supporter of Alabama football, and cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rena Metcalf; five siblings, Betty, Lavada, Evelyn, Doyle, and Dorothy; and a special friend, Joan Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Tammie and Ashley Metcalf; grandson, Steven Ashton "Spud" Westmoreland; great-granddaughter, Brylan Weems; sister, Glenda Croft; the mother of his children, Sharon McDowell; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

The family will receive friends in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at The Church of God, 124 South Lake Terrace, with Pastor Lawrence Munoz officiating. A meal will follow, and the family welcomes covered dishes from those who wish to share.

Boone will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for the outdoors, and the devotion he had to his family and friends.
