Edna Ruth Fisher Metcalf, age 88, of Weaverville, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Mrs. Metcalf was born on August 10, 1937, in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late James Rufus Fisher and Johnny Edna Kilpatrick Fisher. She was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School and a longtime resident of the Vanderbilt Apartments. A faithful member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed Bible study and fellowship. She also worked as a companion to seniors, and in her leisure time loved playing bingo and Scrabble, shopping, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Fisher and Sister Dorothy Ann Fisher.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Bullman and Teresa Bradley; grandchildren: Angel Bullman, Holly Bradley, Dustin Bullman, John Wesley Bullman (Cruz), Kalyn Shelton (Daniel), and Tori Suchy (Jason); 10 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and her nephew, Jeff Fisher (Robbie) and family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 670 Smith Hollow Road, Marshall, NC 28753, with Reverend Larry Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
