Danny D. Parkey, 73, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at home.

Danny Day Parkey was born on January 24, 1952 in Dallas County, Texas to William Ike and Fay Nelle (McCain) Parkey Sr.

After graduating from high school in Texas, he dedicated his life to the craft of steelwork. His hands shaped the very counters and hoods that would serve countless individuals in restaurants, hospitals, and schools throughout Texas and southern New Mexico.

Beyond his professional life, Danny was known for his passion for motorcycles. His love for the open road was matched only by his enthusiasm for collecting and crafting skulls, a unique hobby that showed his artistic side and his appreciation for the intricate beauty of life and its symbols.

Among survivors are his longtime partner, Iva Clark of Maquoketa, IA; a son, Brett (Dena) Parkey of TX; stepchildren, Ronald P. Clark, Rhonda Adams, and Heather Hickson, all of the Maquoketa area; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; brother Jim Parkey of TX; and a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Ike Parkey.

A private visitation will be held at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa followed by a private graveside service celebrating Danny's life on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Oakview Cemetery, Welton, Iowa.
