Daniel Gene Potter, age 73, of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 2, 1952, in Cleveland County, to the late James “Jim” and Helen Marie Hardin Potter. Danny was formerly employed by Western Auto and Walmart. He was a simple man who loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed the mountains where his parents were from. His greatest blessing in life was being a grandfather. Danny adored his grandsons and was so proud of them.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Chad Drewery; grandsons, Gavin Drewery and Gabriel Drewery; and brothers, Jimmy Potter and wife, Pat and Wayne Brown and wife, Lynn.
No formal services are being held at this time.
