Danny Lynn Richey

Danny L Richey, 66, of Mena, AR passed November 24, 2024, in Mount Ida, AR surrounded by family. Danny was born August 11, 1958, in Mena, AR, to Franklin and Viola (Wilhite) Richey. He is preceded in death by both parents, brother Jerry Richey, infant brother James Richey and a infant grandson Joshua Wing.

Danny is survived by his wife Janice (Jones) Richey of 27 years, daughter Traci Wing and husband Matt, grandson John Wing, brothers Dewey Richey and wife Edwina, Monte Richey and Lillie, and Furlon Richey, sisters Sharron Armijo and husband Gilbert, Glenda Bilbo and husband Johnny, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. 

Danny had really close ties with his nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with a multitude of great nieces and nephews. He loved to aggravate all those sweet kiddos. Danny spent 35 years in long distance trucking, he was especially close to Scotty Jones who previously owned Kelworth trucking out of Poteau, OK, later bought out by PGT Trucking out of Pennsylvania. Danny was a kind and generous man. He loved his family and friends, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Danny loved Drag Racing, John Wayne, John Force, and John 3:16.

Memorial service will be at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers are Sammy Jones, Charlie Jones, Bill Jones, Jack Jones, and Kenny Jones. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida. Guest register at www.thorntonfh.com.
