Norman Cornelius Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Nellie Evalyne Cornelius; his sister, Dixie; his first wife, Judy Rose Cornelius; and his grandson, Jason Dewey Wilkerson as well as a daughter who passed away at birth.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Mary Cornelius, and his four children: Carolyn Joyce Wilkerson, Michael James Cornelius, Sarah Lynn Cornelius, and Rebekah Ann Cornelius. He is also survived by his grandson, Jarrett Benjamin Wilkerson, and great-grandson, Reese Wilkerson.
He leaves behind his brothers, Billy Cornelius and wife Kim of Arizona, and Roy Cornelius of Hatfield; as well as his sisters, Sherletta Overton of Little Rock; Jeannie Jordan and husband Jim of Cove; Samantha Chastain and husband Bruce of Texas; and Rosette Sutton and husband James of Texas.
Wayne spent his final days at The Green House Cottages of Homewood in Mena, Arkansas. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to the individual nurses and staff members who showed him sincere care and compassion. Their efforts stood out in meaningful ways during a challenging time, and the family is deeply grateful for those who truly tried to make him comfortable.
Wayne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all his loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mena, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
