Dara Ann Rife

Age 73, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Dara's memory. Dara was born in Flint, MI on February 9, 1953, daughter of the late Darwin and Shirley (Hunsinger) Lawrence. Dara was a graduate of Atherton High School, Class of 1971, and went on to further her education at Baker College. She built a meaningful career, working at a local CPA firm and later serving the communities of Linden, Atherton, and Kearsley Schools with dedication and care. Dara had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of the University of Michigan, as well as the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. Whether cheering from home or sharing the excitement with others, her enthusiasm was unmistakable. Above all, Dara's greatest joy in life was her family-especially her beloved grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and warmth. The Christmas season was always especially magical to Dara, as she delighted in making the holidays bright and meaningful for those she loved. Dara will be remembered for her caring spirit, her devotion to family, and the simple joys she brought to everyday life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Dara is survived by her son, Dan (Amber) Rife; 6 grandchildren, Aiden Rife, Aaron Rife, Abby Johnson, Ben Johnson, Jaxson Coleman and Jace Coleman; significant other, Bill Leonhardt; 3 step-children, Keliann (Michael) Johnson, Wendy (Stephen) Licquia and Tom (Amanda) Coleman; 2 brothers, Jim (Connie) Lawrence and Tom Lawrence; many other loving family members and dear friends.
