A memorial service honoring Darcy's life and legacy will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Memorial Park South Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home to share memories and celebrate his life. Darcy always appreciated a relaxed atmosphere, and the family requests a casual dress code for the visitation – please come as you are and share your stories.
Born November 26, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, Darcy was the son of Leroy and Delores Thompson Lawver. He dedicated his life to service, for 25 years, he served with distinction as a master police officer with the DeKalb County Police Department, earning the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he served. He received multiple commendations throughout his career, most notably, he received recognition from the United States Secret Service for injuries sustained while performing escort and protection duties for President George W. Bush during a visit to the CDC shortly after September 11th, 2001. His first night in the hospital, he received a personal call from the President aboard Air Force One, thanking him for his service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Lawver, who instilled in him a strong sense of duty and integrity. Darcy is survived by his loving mother, Delores Lawver; his sister, Vicki; his son, Tyler; stepmother, Brenda; his nieces, Sheri and Kelly; his nephew, Brian and finally his cherished granddaughters, Clara, Natalee, and Alexis, who brought immense joy to his life.
Darcy had many titles and nicknames throughout his lifetime, his favorite was Grandpa.

I´m sorry to just now hear of Darcy´s passing. We went to high school together. He was a great friend. Prayers for his family.

I'm so sorry to just now hear of Darcy's passing. We grew up together in Emerald Estates and went to elementary school and high school together. I have so many fond memories of him, he was always such a sweet guy. I know that he will be missed by all of his family, friends and loved ones!
