Darla Jeanette Jantz Bair, 86 of Hutchinson and formerly of Canton died October 14, 2025 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born July 7, 1939 in Goessel, the daughter of Adam and Ethelyn Inez (Ewert) Jantz.
She was employed by W.A. "Bill" Schmidt at Friendly Chevrolet in Canton and then was hired by the United States Postal Service. She became postmaster and retired from the Canton office after many years of service. Darla was also a licensed realtor/broker for Canton Real Estate, an occupation she had a great passion for. Darla was united in marriage to Dale Bair and this union was blessed with a son, Dwight Dale. They made their home in Canton and later moved to the home place south of Canton. Dale preceded her in death.
Darla enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes and having coffee with her dear friends. She especially loved her grandkids and followed all their activities and sporting events. She was a devoted member of the Canton Community Church.
Survivors include her son Dwight and his wife Lori of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Derek, Danielle, Dylan and Britt; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Canton Community Church with Pastor Mike Miller presiding. Interment will be in Frick Cemetery, Durham. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at the church.
Memorials have been established with the church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Olson's Mortuary, Canton.
