Darlene M. (Slivinski) Alward, age 69, formerly of Greengarden Blvd., passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born in Erie on February 8, 1956, a daughter of the late John and Carmella (DeBello) Slivinski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Alward; son, Zachary Alward; and siblings, Wanda Causgrove and Johnny, Paul, and Walter Slivinski.
Darlene was a punch press operator at Thomas-Erie. She loved her family and helping others. Darlene was an avid Bingo enthusiast, she loved NASCAR, especially Dale Jr., the Cleveland Browns, Guardians and enjoyed her soap operas.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Blanche "Bunny" (Edward) Kohl; brother, Michael Slivinski; foster daughter, Tasha Szocki and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Sarah Reed Senior Living, Interim Hospice, Bob and Michelle Stile and Sheila for all their care and support.
Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., on Saturday from 11 a.m., until the time of the funeral service there at 1:00 PM with Pastor Caleb Schreiber of the East Erie Assembly of God officiating.
