Darlene Elizabeth Brownrigg, age 80 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Advent Health Hospital, Lake Wales, Florida. Her passing was due to respiratory complications from Covid 19.
Born July 31, 1941 in Wyandotte, MI, Darlene was the daughter of the late Lester and Elizabeth (Noland) Alley. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, she married Joseph L. Brownrigg on April 20, 1963 in Wyandotte. Together they raised two children.
Darlene was a devoted loving wife, mom, and grammie. She was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of Sweet Adelines women singers.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Brownrigg; her children, Brian (Diane) Brownrigg of Edwardsville, IL and Stacie (George) Castle of Monroe; and granddaughter, Gracie Castle.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Alley.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23rd at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations are suggested to Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
