In Loving Memory of Darlene Ecklor (1939 - 2024)
Darlene Ecklor, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 31st, at the age of 84. Her legacy of love, generosity, and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Born in Rockford, IL, Darlene's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of giving. Her passion for cooking was unmatched, and she found immense pleasure in preparing delicious meals for her family. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple gathering, Darlene's kitchen was always filled with warmth and love. Beyond her fondness for cooking, Darlene was known far and wide for her involvement with Avon. She was more than just a saleswoman; she was a true ambassador for the brand, spreading joy and beauty wherever she went. Her dedication took her to countless shows across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, where she touched the lives of many with her infectious enthusiasm.
However, Darlene's true essence blossomed through her passion for crocheting. The intricate patterns and stitches she wove into her creations were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. Every stitch was filled with love, and she delighted in making gifts for her family and friends. Her generosity extended even further as she donated countless hats and scarves to the homeless, bringing warmth and comfort to those in need. Darlene's life was a tapestry of love, compassion, and creativity. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In addition, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Darlene's granddaughter and devoted caregiver, Jorden. Jorden's selfless dedication and compassionate care provided Darlene with comfort and companionship throughout her journey. Her loving presence and unwavering support were a source of strength for Darlene and brought solace to the entire family during this difficult time.
Darlene was preceded in death by her two beloved husbands, Edward Ecklor and Sal Costanza; son, Steve Ecklor; parents, Elmer and Marguerite Wagner; sisters, Pat Wadley and Donna Dobzynski; and brother, Russell Wagner; and grandson, Garrett Atkinson. She is survived by her brother, Rick Wagner; sister, Debbie Jacobson; daughter, Sheri Ecklor; son, Kent Ecklor; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
