Douglas Ecklor Obituary
As per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A family led Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 10:00 A.M.- 3:00 P.M. This event will take place at the Elks Lodge #312 located at 101 W. Church St. Marshalltown, Iowa 50158. Douglas Joe Ecklor was born on July 27, 1970 in Iowa City. He was the son of Danny Thomas. In 2017 on his birthday, Douglas Joe married his split-apart and the love of his life, Christine Shaun Cissy Oetker at the Church of Christ in Marshalltown. "Dougie-Bear", as his wife would call him, enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. He would also spend his free time watching Sci-Fi films and shows as well as, starting, sitting by, and keeping watch over bonfires. He was known by many as the wild child of Iowa as well as the watch dog of most.
He is survived by his wife Christine; his children: Courtney Ecklor of Pennsylvania, Ashley Ecklor of Pennsylvania, and Douglas Wolfe Ecklor of Pennsylvania, four grandchildren; at last head count, several siblings, including his brother David Ecklor, and cousins.
Douglas is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, his sister who passed at birth, and other various relatives.
