Darlene Vivian Erbe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Severna Park, Maryland.  Born on January 4, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, Darlene lived her life with passion and purpose, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever endure in the hearts of those she cherished.

Darlene dedicated a significant part of her life to her remarkable career as an Executive Staff Officer at the National Security Agency, where she showcased her intellect and commitment to her work.  Yet, her accomplishments in her professional life were surpassed only by the deep love she poured into her family.

Her devotion to her family was profound; she most treasured the time spent with her loved ones, creating lasting memories filled with joy and laughter.  Whether it was traveling to Las Vegas with her close-knit group of girlfriends, sitting on the beach in Ocean City with her family or visiting her granddaughters in Charleston, Darlene's spirit shone brightest when surrounded by those she held dear.

Darlene is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald V. Erbe, whose love and partnership was the foundation of her life.  She leaves behind her cherished daughter, Michele Wilkins, and her husband, Dan, who carry on her legacy.  The joy Darlene brought to her family is evident in her adored grandchildren: Kailey and Kelsie, along with great-grandson Caden, who will remember her with love and fondness.

She is also survived by her brother, Spencer James and his wife, Ruth, who have shared a lifetime of memories and support.  Additionally, her nephew, Kevin James and his wife, Sheila, will carry Darlene’s memory forward.

Though Darlene has departed from this world, she joins her beloved son, Brandon Erbe, who has gone before her, and her beloved parents, Dorothy and Odell James, who welcomed her into their arms once more.

A memorial gathering in honor of Darlene will be held on August 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services in Glen Burnie, MD.  As we come together to celebrate her life, we will share stories, laughter, and, most importantly, the love that Darlene instilled in all of us.

Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family, forever reminding them of the strength of love and the beauty of cherished moments.  Darlene Vivian Erbe will be deeply missed, but her legacy will shine bright in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
