Darlene Strait Umbrell

Darlene Strait Umbrell, 78, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her home. Born September 12, 1945 in McConnellsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen Crouse Strait.
Darlene was a 1963 graduate of CASHS. She spent most of her life making a home for her family and also worked part-time for Fashion Bug and Citizens Bank. She was a past member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, VFW Post 1599 and AARP. Darlene enjoyed dancing, watching game shows, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly.
She is survived by three children, Troy Umbrell (wife Judy) of Chambersburg, Tammy Umbrell (Eric Kauffman) of Chambersburg, and Tiffani Umbrell of Mt. Holly Springs; seven grandchildren, Colton Umbrell (wife Kelsey), Jessica Torres-Gonder, Tyler Appleby (Michelle Motichka), Trevor Appleby (wife Morgan), Colby Perry (wife Cheyenne), Tucker Woodring, and Kye Taylor; 13 great grandchildren; and one sister, Darnell Foreman of Chambersburg. Aside from her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Brantley Appleby and Millie Appleby.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jonathan Rose will officiate.
