Darlene Valdez Telles, a cherished event coordinator at Expo NM, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at her home in Rio Rancho. Born in Albuquerque on March 25th, 1968, to Ernesto and Louise Valdez, Darlene leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity.
Throughout her life, Darlene shared her warmth and kindness with everyone she met. She graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1986 and later married her soulmate, Ray Telles, on April 15th, 2010. Together they embarked on adventures, creating lasting memories filled with stories from their travels.
Darlene's passion for food was evident in her love for trying every food truck and preparing the traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for her loved ones. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she tirelessly gave to those around her.
An adoring mother to Adrian and Sarah, Darlene treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren - Antonio, Adrian, Marcos, Abijah, Kristen, Kailani, Jayden, Tauriel, Xanthe, Isaac, Rozie, Gabriel, Ayisha, and Aleena.
Darlene's dedication extended to her work at Expo NM's Villa Hispana where she adored the entertainers and cherished the relationships she built with colleagues and clients alike.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Darlene's life during the memorial services scheduled for May 2nd, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Expo NM in the Villa Hispana. Darlene's final wish was for all to remember her vibrant spirit just as she was - full of life.
