Darlene Ann Wall, 88, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at UF Health St. Johns.
Born and raised in Chicago, Darlene moved to Indiana in her late teens, where she raised her children and built a loving home. In 1970, she met the love of her life, James "Jim" Wall, and the two were married in 1972. Together, they shared over five decades of love and laughter. In 1987, they relocated to St. Augustine, Florida, where they continued to enjoy life surrounded by family and friends.
While in Indiana, Darlene and James were proud members of the American Legion, and she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. In her younger years, she found joy in gardening and was a devoted fan of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. She also had a passion for the lottery-Darlene loved studying the numbers and had an uncanny knack for picking winners.
A familiar face in the community, Darlene volunteered for many years at the local voting booths in St. Augustine. She was known for her outspoken nature, strong will, and big heart. A talented cook, she was always experimenting with new recipes-even formulating some while bedbound later in life-and she remained fiercely independent, driving around town and visiting friends well into her seventies.
She is survived by her children, Terry Stewart, Steve Stewart and James "Jamie" Wall; grandchildren, Cameron Wall, Ian Hux, Stacy Hux, Ross Hux, Adam Walters, Ashland Wheat and Lindlee Stewart; 2 great grandchildren and her cousin, Joyce Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Wall and 2 children.
