ENOSBURGH - Darlene Wright, a devoted homemaker and farmer, led a life rich in love, kindness, and service to her community. She passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Enosburgh.
She was born in Randolph on April 24, 1944 to the late Wendell Brigham and Marjorie Lamson.
Darlene was a "Lady of All Trades". She was a beacon of warmth and hospitality, known for her exceptional talent as a seamstress and the delicious meals she lovingly prepared. Her home was always filled with the inviting aroma of freshly baked bread and cookies. Her culinary skills were legendary, ensuring there was always enough to feed any guest who arrived, no matter the number. The local veterinarians and salespeople always planned their stop at the Wright Farm for around lunch time.
She was a tireless volunteer, dedicating her time and energy to numerous community organizations, including 4-H, Enosburg Food Shelf, the Grange, and the sewing and quilting group Piecemakers. Her selfless commitment to service touched the lives of many.
Beyond her domestic and volunteer activities, Darlene was a "sports spectator extraordinaire". She was a devoted spectator at her children's and grandchildren's games. Her unwavering support and presence at these events were a testament to her deep love and commitment to her family.
Darlene leaves behind her husband, Carroll Wright of Enosburgh; their children, Sharyn Abbott and her husband Tim, Dean Wright and his wife Angie, and Amy Parent and her husband Gabe; a son-in-law, Scott Goodhue; grandchildren, Chelsea Abbott, Caitlyn Abbott, Ellis Howrigan and her husband Brian, Kathryn Weller and her husband Alex, Austin Goodhue, Cole Goodhue and his wife Chandler, Erica Goodhue, Isaac Parent, Luke Parent, Julie Parent, and Nathan Parent; a great grandson, Henry Weller; her siblings, Marilyn White, and Maurice Brigham and his wife Judi; brothers-in-law, Stanley Wright and his wife Penny, and Gary Wright and his wife Debbie; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Goodhue; a newborn grandson, Ethan Goodhue; and a brother-in-law, Donald White.
Darlene's family would like to thank Joanne Garrow for her friendship and care, and the Bayada crew for everything they did for her over the past year.
Friends and family are invited to Darlene's Life Celebration to include visitation on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5-8:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Enosburg Falls Methodist Church, Church St., Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in the Enosburgh Center Cemetery.
