DARNELL FORTÉ OBITUARY Darnell "Beanie" Tony Forté – age 50, was born April 18, 1974, at the Metro-Health "Twin Towers" Hospital to Selena Forté. He was the eldest of three children. His grandmother, Florine Berry, nicknamed her first grandson Bambino, which was later shortened to Beanie. Beanie attended Cleveland Ohio Public Schools during the time of mandatory busing until his 9th-grade year when he attended John Marshall High School. He later went on to attend Vatterott Technical College and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Technology (2011). He also obtained his OSHA Certification of Training license (2010) and went on to obtain his second Associate's degree of Applied Science in Business Management (2015). Darnell was a hardworking, kind-hearted, slow-to-anger, gentle giant of a man. He was proud of his two sons and always hoped that they would achieve their goals in life; much like his mother did for him. Beanie was raised attending his mother's bible class, the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research® (IDMR®) under the doctrine of Dr. Henry Clifford Kinley. It was there that he came to know the true divine name of God, which is Yahweh our Elohim and the savior, Yahshua the Messiah, who is widely known as Jesus Christ. He would attend Sunday School along with his siblings as a child. Although Beanie did not continue to attend this bible class as an adult, he never forgot the impact that the teaching had on his life.
In 1996, Beanie met and fell in love with Sherice Thompson, who gave birth to their sons Christopher and Donovan Forté. Darnell was proud of the accomplishments of his sons; Christopher is an aspiring chef and Donovan went on to graduate from Gannon University. The die-hard Cleveland Browns fan that he was, Darnell would watch sports news day in and day out, reciting history in sports as if he were a sports commentator. To his mother's surprise, Darnell loved a wide range of music from the 60's, 70's and 80's from the likes of Marvin Gaye to Michael Jackson. He was raised in the era of the birth of hip-hop and some of his favorite artists were Tupac, Biggie, Big Daddy Kane, Scar Face, and UCK. He also introduced his sister to the artists 8 Ball and MJG. Darnell enjoyed watching tv shows; his favorite was "Power" and the classic sitcom "I Love Lucy". He was also known for being well groomed and always getting dressed up in the latest Rocawear fashion before going out. You would know if he was in a room because his aroma would linger and fill the room with his cologne. Beanie was also good with a pair of clippers (cutting hair for friends and family), he was an avid cook or grill master, he loved spending as much time as he could with his sons, he cherished his time with his grandchildren, and he knew he could always confide in his faithful uncle Renardo.
Around 2:30 pm, on June 27, 2024, Darnell suffered a medical emergency while driving that resulted in a car accident. While being rushed to the hospital he was pronounced dead at 2:56 pm due to heart failure.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Florine Berry; his aunts; Edith Berry and May Frances Berry, and Tammy Taylor; uncles; Christopher Forté, Raymond, Leon, Michael and Eric Berry, and Franky Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Selena Forté; his siblings, Ellison Forté Golphin and Arteyah Reneé "Kizzy" Marbuary; his uncles, Renardo Berry (Sabrina) and Jeffery Taylor (Tina); his aunts, Renee Forté Flowers (Owen) and Anise Houston (Carl); his great aunt, Ethel Berry Johnson; his stepfather, Reuben Marbruary; his sons, Christopher and Donovan Forté; his grandchildren, Christina, Carly, and Daya; his cousins, Robert "RD" Flowers (Naudia), Cassandra "Sandy" Franklin (Justin), Julien Rice, Carl "CJ" Houston, Jr., Lauren McCorvey, James Johnson, Jr. (Debra), Xandria "Suzie," Michael, Solomon, Lacreasha, Ray (Debbie), and Larry Berry; his niece, Alize Forté; his "nieces and nephews," Ryan Flowers, Serenity Jones, Aralyn Franklin, Callie Houston; and his grandfather, Sloan Forté. He is also survived by extended family members, Curtis, Kevin, and Tamara Flowers, and countless friends, associates, coworkers, administrators, and others who were all important to him and who will miss him greatly. I Cor. 15:51-52: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS We, the Family of Darnell "Beanie" Tony Forté, wish to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love and support that you all have shown us. Although our heads are hanging low, we see you as we lift our hearts toward the praise, thanksgiving, and glory of our Heavenly Father, Yahweh as Dr. Kinley. We are grateful for His kind and tender mercies toward us, for He truly sent His heavenly sons as ministering spirits to comfort us. As it is written in Matthew 28:20, "And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Humbly Submitted, The Family
