Darrel Edward McNutt, 93, passed away March 29, 2026, at Northview Health & Living in Anderson. He was born on March 20, 1933, in West Newton, IN and resided most of his life in Pendleton.

Darrel is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Mary Ann McNutt; son, Curtis Alan McNutt; and parents, E. Franklin and Nova (McCabe) McNutt.

He is survived by his son, Daniel (Roxanne) McNutt; daughter, Cathy (Kevin) Wrigley; daughter-in-law, Cindy McNutt; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also, surviving is his sister, Gwen DeShong; brother, Steve McNutt, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Darrel was a lifetime member of East Lynn Christian Church, Anderson, IN, where he served in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, deacon/elder, and board member. He participated and served in the Walk to Emmaus. He served in the Naval reserves, as a young man, and worked many years at Delco Remy (Anderson) in Time Study and Industrial Engineering. After early retirement, he enjoyed being a realtor for Jim Craig Real Estate in Pendleton and as a consultant for General Motors Delphi Division.

Darrel was a graduate of Pendleton High School and president of the Class of 1951. He was a lifetime learner, a student of history, Boy Scout leader, Township Trustee (Pendleton), volunteer at the Pendleton Historical Museum and other community activities. Darrel loved to travel with his wife. They shared adventures to Europe, Soviet Union, Mexico, Hawaii; and toured Nova Scotia and many states via motorcycle. Darrel enjoyed time with his family and friends; gardening and yard work with his wife.

Visitation will be held at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN, Thursday, April 2, 2026, 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Services will follow immediately at 12:00 pm with Rev. Kevin Wrigley officiating.

Burial will take place in the Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
