Left to cherish his memory are 2 children, Kerr'yelle and L'Bella Carter; 1 adopted daughter, Angel Veal; devoted former wife, Clerice Lacy; mother, Albertha "Ann" Carter; father, Kenneth Talley; 6 siblings, Christan Carter (Mark Poret), Jerraud Carter, Trechere Robertson, Anya Carter-Daggs (Ventrus), Tanika Carter-Lewis (Gregory), and Darryl Carter (Ebony); grandmother, Eunicestine "Eunice" Williams; 2 aunts, Yolanda Carter and Lacreda "Joy'' Williams; 1 uncle, Robert Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by 2 children, Darryelle Carter and Darrell "DJ" Carter Jr.; 1 brother, Kenneth Monroe; grandparents, Daniel Carter Sr. and Theresa Carter-Surtain (Osborne); 1 aunt, Dannetter "Deedy" Carter-White (Teddy), and 1 uncle, Daniel Carter Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 18, 2024, 10:00AM at Professional Funeral Services, Inc., 1449 N. Claiborne Ave., NOLA. Visitation 9:00AM until service. A Jazz Procession will follow to honor his spirit and legacy. Internment Holt Cemetery.
