Darrel Max Holtzclaw Jr, 77 of Mooresville, passed away on February 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born at home on April 13, 1948, in White County, Illinois.

Darrel attended Mooresville High School, but graduated from Airline High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1971 where he was stationed at Barksdale Airforce in Shreveport, Louisiana.

His greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife traveling, playing softball with his dad and his brothers, watching his daughter/granddaughter play softball, watching old westerns, spending time with all his kids/ grandkids running around, talking to others about the Airforce.

Darrel was proceeded in death by his father Darrell Max Holtzclaw Sr.

Darrel leaves behind his wife of almost 59 years, Joleen Holtzclaw. His mother Rosemary Holtzclaw. His brothers Bill Holtzclaw (Vickie), David Holtzclaw (Missy), and his sister Barbara Hartsell (Matt). His beautiful daughters Bethany Bryant (Robert), Deana Holtzclaw, Diane Holtzclaw (George Hines). His whole gang of grandkids. Douglas Heath (Danielle), Darci Kelley, Derek Kelley, Tyler Heath (Caitlyn), Jordyn Araujo (Devonte), Kylee Ridenour (Foster Thompson). 13 grandkids and 5 step grandkids. And a whole bunch of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held on Monday February 23, 2026 at 10: 00am in Crown Hill National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Indiana Parkinsons Foundation.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
