Darrell Hypes Obituary

Darrell was born on September 29, 1934, in Fayette County to Delbert and Bessie Hypes. Along with his parents,he is preceded by his wife Patsy Hypes; his brother Kendall, and sisters Sharon and Betty.
He was a long-time employee and Supervisor for Department of Highways. Darrell was as strong as he was kind and was a man of countless talents. He thoroughly loved his family, and he enjoyed his animals prior to his passing.
Darrell is survived by his three sons, David Hypes and wife (Late) Marilyn of Fort Mill, SC, Danny Hypes and wife Loretta of Hico, WV, and Darrell Eugene Hypes and wife Regina of Hico, WV. Darrell and Pat celebrated life with their children and 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Darrell had proud siblings, sisters Violet and Bun Carte of Hico, WV, Francis and Charlie Asbury of Hickory, NC, brothers Russell Hypes and Linda of Hico, WV, and Delbert and Susan Hypes of Hico, WV.
Darrell's service will be held 2:00 p.m., on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Services, Ansted WV with Pastor Pat Gray officiating. The burial will follow at Legg Cemetery in Hico. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
