He was born in Farrell, PA on September 22, 1953, to Harold and Ruth (Mitchell) Matthews. He graduated from Farrell High School and spent many years as a laborer in manufacturing warehouses. He spent his recent years as a caregiver.
Darrell was a member of the Cedar Avenue Church Of God. He was also a member at the Elks Lodge 187 of Farrell, PA and the Farrell and Youngstown VFW's. Darrell was always a jokester with an amazing sense of humor. He made everyone around him smile.
Darrell was married to Renee Matthews for over 25 years and loved her very much. She preceded him in death in 2022.
Darrell is survived by: Two Daughters, Patrice Matthews of Farrell, PA, and Sheena Matthews of VA; Grandson, Elliott Campbell Jr; Four Granddaughters, Makayla Jacobs, Mon'yae Jacobs, Maleeka Jacobs and Imani Campbell; Two great-grandsons, Delante and Royal Staggers. Also surviving are many beloved cousins and friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by: his parents, Harold E. Matthews and Ruth (Mitchell) Matthews and wife, Renee Matthews, and his aunt, Shirley Ann Matthews Williams.
Per Darrell's wishes, there will be no services held.
