Darrell Theodore Moll

Darrell Theodore Moll, 84, of Anna Maria Island, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on August 26, 2025, near the sea breezes he so loved. Born on February 23, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, Darrell lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was the husband of Sue Dodd Moll, with whom he shared his later years. Darrell was a dedicated father to Christopher "Chip" Moll and Elizabeth Moll Young. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children and their families: Christopher Moll and his wife, Leanne Moll, and their children: Dresden Moll, Delaney Moll, and Charlotte Moll. Elizabeth Moll Young, and her children: Hannah Overfield (and husband Joshua Overfield), Leah Grace Young, and Benjamin Young. Darrell was also a proud great-grandfather to Declan and Harrison Overfield. Through his marriage to Sue, Darrell became a supportive presence in the lives of her children – Ashley, Ambur and Laith, offering guidance, strength and an example of love that left a lasting mark on their lives. Professionally, Darrell had a long and accomplished career with MTD Products in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as general manager of several manufacturing facilities across the country, including in Indianola, Mississippi; Willard, Ohio; and Leitchfield, Kentucky. After retiring from MTD, he continued to channel his passion for the outdoors by founding Darrell's Lawn and Landscape, where he combined his work ethic with his love of nature. In his later years, Darrell found peace and joy in Holmes Beach, Florida, where he could often be found enjoying sunsets on Anna Maria Island-a place that brought him serenity and reflection. Darrell will be remembered for his quiet strength, his passion for the Episcopal church, his steadfast devotion to his family, and his enduring love of the natural world. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the example he set. A private gathering will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a quiet moment spent outdoors in Darrell's memory. And if you ever find yourself on Anna Maria Island-stop and enjoy a sunset for Darrell.
