Darrell Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perry Funeral Home - Newark on May 12, 2024.
It is with profound regret and great sorrow that we acknowledged the transition to his final resting place, Darrell Cardell Moore. He was born on September 21, 1966 in Newark, New Jersey to the late James Otis Moore, Sr. and Lessie Viola Woods-Moore and left this world on May 7, 2024 in Livingston, New Jersey at the remarkable age of fifty-seven.
Cardell graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1986 and graduated Essex County College in 2006. Following graduation, he became a Teacher's Assistant at East Orange Campus High School. He retired from East Orange Campus High School in 2023 with over 30 years of service.
During Cardell's spare time he attended Broadway shows, listened to jazz music and read books. He was a profound story-writer and bowler. He was not a man of many words, but when he spoke everyone listened. Cardell was a selfless person and cared deeply for his family, friends, facility and students of East Orange Campus High School. He even purchased school supplies for the students on his own dime.
Cardell was preceded in death by his loving father, James Otis Moore, Sr.
Cardell's memories will be forever cherished by his loving mother, Lessie Viola Woods-Moore of the home; One brother, James Otis Moore, Jr. (Pamela) of Raleigh, North Carolina; One sister, Lavunda Dee Moore of the home; One nephew, Shawn Michael King (Eva) of Allentown, Pennsylvania; One Niece, Shanice Lessie-Ann Long of the home; Two step nephews, Kamari Rashon Torras and Dashon Raheem Roper; Three great nephews, Darius Michael King, Dyami Antonio King and Dashawn Otis King; One great-great nephew, Master Amari Michael King; Three uncles, Albert Kearney of Louisburg, North Carolina, William Avery Woods of Ocean City, New Jersey and Julius Toussaint Woods of Manhattan, New York; Three aunts, Faymer Cook of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lois Mae Thomas of Louisburg, North Carolina and Lola Moore of Henderson, North Carolina; along with a host of other family members and close friends.
