Darrell L. Myers, 86, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Cuba City, Wisconsin with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2-6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22 at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin, where there will be a Parish Rosary Service at 1:45 p.m. Visitation will also be held Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Darrell was born on June 28, 1938 in Beetown, Wisconsin, the son of Howard and Viola (Garthwaite) Myers. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gruender on August 4, 1962 at St. Mary’s Church in Bloomington, Wisconsin.
Darrell held various jobs, including feed grinder at a mill, worker at Dubuque Packing Company and FDL Foods, groundskeeper at Galena Territories, and general laborer for Thomas Electric Company. In his spare time, he loved training horses and belonged to the West Grant Saddle Club. Darrell often took his children and grandchildren horseback riding on area trails and in South Dakota. He enjoyed hunting when he was younger, fishing with his family, and gardening and canning with Elizabeth. Darrell was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Myers; five children, Mark (Diane) Myers, Madison, WI, Lisa (Michael) Bierman, Menasha, WI, Jennifer (Mark Petitgoue) Dalsing, New Glarus, WI, Joseph (Emily) Myers, Cuba City, WI, and Denise (Brian) Vosberg, Madison, WI; 11 grandchildren, Katherine, Anna, Benjamin, Jacob, Jordan (Kayla), Mitchell, Noah, Kylee, Ty, Chelsea and Cecelia; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Heather) Myers, and a sister, Barbara Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Blake Bierman; a son-in-law, Kent Dalsing; a sister, Eleanor (Jim) Hinderman; a brother, Dennis Myers; and a brother-in-law, Donald Douglas.
Memorials in Darrell’s name may be sent to the funeral home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Southwest Health Platteville, SSM Health Monroe Hospital and New Glarus Home for their compassionate care of Darrell.
